Review Policy

The Book Hobbyist Book Review Policy:

  1. Book reviews are published on Tuesday evenings on my blog for which you will receive notification from me when this has happened. Postings to social media will be scheduled based on optimization data and will be discussed as part of our review agreement. 
  2. I state how I receive each book in its respective review as well as my review is my honest opinion.
  3. Requests from authors, publicists and publishers are welcome. 
  4. All opinions and thoughts are my own no matter how I received a copy of the book. 
  5. I have the right to decline review offers, but I will do my best to respond to every request I receive. Please allow 2 weeks time for me to respond. 
  6. In addition to my blog, I will post reviews to Goodreads, Amazon, Pinterest and Instagram. 
  7. Reviews can take 2-4 weeks from the time of the receipt of the book depending on my backlog. I review based on a first come first serve basis. I will communicate and provide a tentative time frame for the review posting. If your request is for a book launch, please let me know right away so I can arrange time to assist you, if I can. 
  8. Genres I’m most interested in: Christian fiction (suspense, romantic suspense, inspirational) and Christian nonfiction.
  9. I WILL NOT accept: horror, erotica, graphic novels, etc.
  10. I accept the following formats: PDF and physical copy.

If accepted for a Review:
If I accept your book for a review, I will respond by asking for a few things:
1. An image of the book cover in an attached .JPEG or .PNG file
2. All buy links for the book, including Goodreads
3. Optional: links to the author’s website/social

After the review goes live:
1. All reviews go live Tuesday evenings.
2. In addition to my blog, the reviews are cross-posted on Goodreads, Amazon, Pinterest and Instagram on certains days of the week based on optimization planning.

What you do:
1. Share the book review around your social media accounts as well as your website or blog.
2. Check back periodically on my blog to answer any comments the review may get.

Please include the following so I know you have read the guidelines and also so I can get a good idea of what your book is like.

  1. Full names of title and author
  2. Genre
  3. Publication date
  4. Blurb/summary
  5. Why you chose me to read and review your work
  6. A Goodreads and Amazon link to your book
